SUMMARY:NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification Course (Memphis)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This course teaches experienced shooters how to organize\, promote\, and deliver the NRA’s flagship handgun course: Basics of Pistol Shooting. Many states also require this NRA instructor certification to authorize trainers to teach handgun carry permit classes. Instructor candidates learn to organize and teach the Basic Pistol curriculum and demonstrate mastery through practical exercises\, student-teaching\, and a written exam.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]\nThe course is 16 hours long (two days). Class runs from 8am to 6pm both days\, with a short lunch break around midday.  \n Day 1 includes NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT)\, utilizing the NRA Trainer’s Guide. Instructor candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures\, basic public speaking skills\, training methodology\, use of a training team and training aids\, organizing a course\, building a budget\, and preparing to teach. Day 1 also ventures into the discipline-specific portion of the course\, where candidates are introduced to the Basic Pistol course outlines and lesson plans. \nDay 2 continues with more pistol instructor training. All candidates will teach several parts of the curriculum over the course of the day\, including live fire. Role playing is a major part of an instructor course. Candidates take turns working in teams to teach portions of the course to other candidates\, who role-play as students. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When and Where” tab_id=”when-and-where”][vc_column_text]This is a 16-hour class\, conducted over two consecutive days. We’ll start class each day at 8am sharp\, so please arrive a bit early the first day to complete a little paperwork. Class will run until 6pm both days\, with a short lunch break. There is a restaurant onsite at the range. \nThe class will take place at Top Gun Academy\, 2770 Whitten Road\, in Memphis\, TN. This is a very nice\, modern\, indoor range with lots of convenient amenities.
