SUMMARY:NRA CCW Instructor Certification Course
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The goal of the NRA CCW Instructor Certification Course is to equip firearms trainers with the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude necessary to teach others how to safely and responsibly carry a concealed pistol for personal protection. NRA CCW is a newly-developed curriculum that builds on the fundamentals taught in the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course and puts those skills into a defensive context for private citizens who carry concealed handguns. The lesson plans include the following topics (which instructor candidates will learn to teach): \n\nReview from NRA Basic Pistol or TN Handgun Carry Permit class\n\ngun safety rules\nproper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols\nFundamentals of marksmanship\nammunition knowledge and selection\n\n\nholster selection\ndifferent carry modes\ndrawing from a holster (open and concealed)\ndefensive mindset\ndefensive accuracy and flash sight picture\nemergency reloading\nmalfunction clearances\none-handed shooting\nshooting from moderate distances (10-15 yards)\nshooting with a timer\nand much more!\n\nThe course concludes with a written instructor candidate exam and a shooting qualification drill. CRSO candidates demonstrate organizational and teaching skills by participation in practical exercises and mock teaching sessions. The course also includes a written exam. Instructor candidates are presumed to already know how to shoot. This is a semi-closed class\, and most of the participants already have BIT\, so we’re not offering BIT with the instructor training. SUMMARY:NRA CCW Instructor Certification Course (Memphis)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The goal of the NRA CCW Instructor Certification Course is to equip firearms trainers with the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude necessary to teach others how to safely and responsibly carry a concealed pistol for personal protection. NRA CCW is a newly-developed curriculum that builds on the fundamentals taught in the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course and puts those skills into a defensive context for private citizens who carry concealed handguns. The lesson plans include the following topics (which instructor candidates will learn to teach): \n\nReview from NRA Basic Pistol or TN Handgun Carry Permit class\n\ngun safety rules\nproper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols\nFundamentals of marksmanship\nammunition knowledge and selection\n\n\nholster selection\ndifferent carry modes\ndrawing from a holster (open and concealed)\ndefensive mindset\ndefensive accuracy and flash sight picture\nemergency reloading\nmalfunction clearances\none-handed shooting\nshooting from moderate distances (10-15 yards)\nshooting with a timer\nand much more!\n\nThe course concludes with a written instructor candidate exam and a shooting qualification drill. This sixteen-hour instructional time does NOT include Basic Instructor Training (BIT). Since all CCW instructor candidates are required to already be certified as NRA Basic Pistol instructors\, we assume most candidates will have already met the BIT requirement. However\, if you would like to add the CCW instructor rating and you need to renew your BIT credentials\, please let us know. CRSO candidates demonstrate organizational and teaching skills by participation in practical exercises and mock teaching sessions. The course also includes a written exam. However\, this offering will NOT include BIT\, as most expected attendees are already NRA-certified pistol instructors.
