Handgun permit training is a great start\, but it’s very basic\, focusing mostly on relevant statutes and safe handgun operation. It wasn’t created to teach you how to carry a handgun in public or use one to defend yourself from violent attack. Defending yourself with a handgun demands a level of skill. Developing the required skill takes more than one class\, it is a process that involves time\, instruction\, and structured practice. \nFor those who want to gain confidence and competence with their handgun we have the “After the Permit” series of clinics\, Gun Handling & Marksmanship and Drawing From a Holster.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]Gun Handling & Marksmanship Clinic is a half-day course that continues where the TN Enhanced Handgun Permit class ends. This Friday night class starts off the weekend and introduces attendees to simple techniques for avoiding crime and victimization. From the time that a bad guy chooses you\, you will have a very limited amount of time to make a decision. THEY choose how and when. Handgun permit training is a great start\, but it’s very basic\, focusing mostly on relevant statutes and safe handgun operation. It wasn’t created to teach you how to carry a handgun in public or use one to defend yourself from violent attack. Defending yourself with a handgun demands a level of skill. Handgun permit training is a great start\, but it’s very basic\, focusing mostly on relevant statutes and safe handgun operation. There are lots of people advertising permit classes nowadays. The course concludes with a written test and a shooting qualification drill. The course concludes with a written test and a shooting qualification drill. However\, Tennessee now has a new permit called the Concealed Handgun Carry permit\, and the NRA CCW class DOES satisfy the training requirement for Tennessee’s Concealed Handgun Carry permit.
