This course will focus on how to be prepared and gain the skills needed to prevent\, recognize and rapidly respond during an active shooter incident. This course will provide details on what behaviors to look for and the proper steps to prevent an active shooter incident. You will also learn how to make educated life-saving decisions regarding which actions to take during an active shooter incident. \nCOURSE OBJECTIVES  \n\nThe proper modes of response during an active shooter incident\nGain better understanding of Active Shooter incidents \nKnow the definition of an Active Shooter \nGain understanding how these events affect businesses\, schools and places of worship\nGet better at recognizing potential workplace violence indicators \nLearn how to respond when law enforcement arrives \nDescribe actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents \n\nClass prerequisites: Completion of a state handgun carry permit class or other comparative pistol shooting class. You should also have some experience safely handling a pistol. We recommend full or medium sized guns for this class. Sub-compact guns are much harder to shoot. \n200 rounds of quality training ammunition. \nAT LEAST 2 magazines or speed loaders\, 3 magazines is better.\nEye protection and hearing protection (we recommend electronic) and we recommend a ball cap or brimmed hat to keep brass from going behind your eye protection.\nComfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather or range work.\nA cooler with soft drinks\, water\, snacks and lunch will be needed\, for lunch on site. This is the eight-hour safety course required by the State of Tennessee to obtain a Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP). Tennessee does not require a permit to merely own a firearm (for example\, if you keep one in your home). However\, if you want to carry a firearm on your person out in public\, you’ll need a permit. There are lots of people advertising permit classes nowadays. This is the eight-hour safety course required by the State of Tennessee to obtain a Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP). Tennessee does not require a permit to merely own a firearm (for example\, if you keep one in your home). However\, if you want to carry a firearm on your person out in public\, you’ll need a permit. There are lots of people advertising permit classes nowadays.
