Handgun permit training is a great start\, but it’s very basic\, focusing mostly on relevant statutes and safe handgun operation. It wasn’t created to teach you how to carry a handgun in public or use one to defend yourself from violent attack. Defending yourself with a handgun demands a level of skill. Developing the required skill takes more than one class\, it is a process that involves time\, instruction\, and structured practice. \nFor those who want to gain confidence and competence with their handgun we have the “After the Permit” series of courses\, ATP-1 and ATP-2.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]ATP-1 is a half-day course that continues where the TN Handgun Permit class ends. Handgun permit training is a great start\, but it’s very basic\, focusing mostly on relevant statutes and safe handgun operation. It wasn’t created to teach you how to carry a handgun in public or use one to defend yourself from violent attack. Defending yourself with a handgun demands a level of skill. Developing the required skill takes more than one class\, it is a process that involves time\, instruction\, and structured practice. \nFor those who want to gain confidence and competence with their handgun we have the “After the Permit” series of courses\, ATP-1 and ATP-2.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]ATP-1 is a half-day course that continues where the TN Handgun Permit class ends. Its purpose is to teach Tennessee handgun laws and ways to safely load\, unload\, and store a handgun. Citizens Defensive Pistol also satisfies the learning objectives and qualifications for completion of the NRA Defensive Pistol course. \nClass prerequisites: Completion of a state Handgun Carry Permit class or the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting class.
