This is the eight-hour safety course required by the State of Tennessee to obtain a Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP). Tennessee does not require a permit to merely own a firearm (for example\, if you keep one in your home). However\, if you want to carry a firearm on your person out in public\, you’ll need a permit. There are lots of people advertising permit classes nowadays. This is the eight-hour safety course required by the State of Tennessee to obtain a Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP). Tennessee does not require a permit to merely own a firearm (for example\, if you keep one in your home). However\, if you want to carry a firearm on your person out in public\, you’ll need a permit. There are lots of people advertising permit classes nowadays. Chuck is nationally renown for his decades of experience with defensive use of oleoresin capsicum (O.C. spray or pepper spray). To find out for sure\, contact the proper officials in your state to verify whether the CCW course will satisfy that state’s training requirement. \nTennessee has designed its own training course specifically for Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit applicants\, and this course is currently not accepted as a substitute. However\, Tennessee now has a new permit called the Concealed Handgun Carry permit\, and the NRA CCW class DOES satisfy the training requirement for Tennessee’s Concealed Handgun Carry permit. This is the eight-hour safety course required by the State of Tennessee to obtain a Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP). Tennessee does not require a permit to merely own a firearm (for example\, if you keep one in your home). However\, if you want to carry a firearm on your person out in public\, you’ll need a permit. There are lots of people advertising permit classes nowadays. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So you’ve got your Tennessee Enhanced Carry Permit or Concealed Carry Permit. Excellent! Now what? Handgun permit training is a great start\, but it’s very basic\, focusing mostly on relevant statutes and safe handgun operation. It wasn’t created to teach you how to carry a handgun in public or use one to defend yourself from violent attack. Defending yourself with a handgun demands a level of skill. Developing the required skill takes more than one class\, it is a process that involves time\, instruction\, and structured practice. \nFor those who want to gain confidence and competence with their handgun we have the “After the Permit” series of courses\, ATP-1 and ATP-2.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]ATP-1 is a half-day course that continues where the TN Handgun Permit class ends. Topics include: \n\nA review of the rules of safe gun handling and how to apply them\nA review of the shooting fundamentals with an emphasis on defensive application\nSafe loading\, unloading and storage of handguns\nHow to handle and operate a handgun in a comfortable and robust manner\nHow to select the right gear for training and carrying\nAn introduction to accuracy standards\nIntroduction to defensive and preparatory mindset\nProper “ready positions” and safe gun-handling\n\nCompletion of ATP-1 will prepare you for success in ATP-2\, where we introduce students to holster work and other defensive handgun techniques and applications.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Prerequisites” tab_id=”prerequisites”][vc_column_text]This course was designed for people who already have their handgun carry permit or are planning to obtain one soon.
