SUMMARY:Critical Pistol Skills (Lee Weems)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For this class\, Citizens Safety Academy is proud to host a longtime friend and colleague\, Lee Weems of Georgia-based First Person Safety. Lee will teach students how to safely operate their pistols through a progression of freestyle\, dominant hand only\, and non-dominant hand drills.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]\nCourse Content: \nThis 300 round course develops the skills needed to successfully operate a pistol with either hand. Students will learn through a progression of freestyle and dominant hand only drills to ultimately draw\, reload\, and clear malfunctions using only their non-dominant hand. It is much more convenient to learn how to do this on the range than to have to figure it out under incoming fire. \nPrerequisites: \nThis is not a course for the first time student. Enrollment is limited to students who have already completed training from a recognized instructor that included drawing\, reloading\, etc\, under time constraints. Graduates from a law enforcement academy\, IDPA Sharpshooter class or USPSA C-class shooters or higher will also be accepted. Other students may be admitted with approval from the instructor. Please don’t hesitate to ask. \nPlease contact lee@firstpersonsafety.com if you have any inquiries.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Guest Instructor Lee Weems” tab_id=”lee-weems”][vc_column_text]Lee Weems has been a peace officer since January of 1999 and has served as a patrol officer\, field training officer\, detective\, supervisor\, and Chief Deputy.  He has been sworn at the local\, state\, and federal levels\, and he is an adjunct instructor on the collegiate level.  He served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (GALEFI) and is certified by GALEFI as a Master Firearms Instructor.  He is certified by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) as a general topics and firearms instructor and is a graduate of the FBI’s Law Enforcement Instructor and Police Firearms Instructor training programs. \nA more complete biography is available on the First Person Safety webpage. \n***First Person Safety is a registered trade name of Proficient Strategies\, LLC.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Equipment” tab_id=”1570750342799-d79e07e8-b3d8″][vc_column_text]You will need a quality semi-automatic pistol and ammunition that will function in your pistol. Your holster should be one that does not collapse when the pistol is drawn and allows for one-handed re-holstering. Holsters that require the use of the trigger finger to disengage a retention device\, such as a Blackhawk Serpa\, are strongly discouraged. At least three magazines and 300 rounds of ammo are needed. Shooters need eye and ear protection as well as a hat with a brim. Shooters should bring whatever personal comfort items such as drinks\, food\, chairs\, etc. that they wish to have.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Cost & Deposits” tab_id=”cost”][vc_column_text]The cost for this course is $100.00. A spot in the class may be reserved by making a $50.00 non-refundable deposit (credit card fees apply if paying online). The balance is due on the date of the class.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Weather Policy & Cancellation Policy” tab_id=”weather-and-cancellation”][vc_column_text]\nWeather Policy:\nIf the weather is such that it jeopardizes the students’ safety\, the class will be postponed or delayed as appropriate. Otherwise\, the class will go forth as scheduled rain or shine. \nCancellation Policy:\nThe deposit is non-refundable if you choose not to attend the class. If the range were to cancel\, full refunds will be made. I reserve the right to cancel the class and grant full refunds if fewer than five students sign up for the class. If I am forced to cancel the class for reasons other than the outlined above\, students will have the option of a refund or attending the course on another date.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Register Now” tab_id=”section-register-now”][vc_column_text]We look forward to seeing you in class. If you have any trouble with the embedded registration form below\, you can also register directly on the Eventbrite page (click here).[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwaWQlM0QlMjJldmVudGJyaXRlLXdpZGdldC1jb250YWluZXItNzYzNDI1NDU2MDklMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZkaXYlM0UlMEElMEElM0NzY3JpcHQlMjBzcmMlM0QlMjJodHRwcyUzQSUyRiUyRnd3dy5ldmVudGJyaXRlLmNvbSUyRnN0YXRpYyUyRndpZGdldHMlMkZlYl93aWRnZXRzLmpzJTIyJTNFJTNDJTJGc2NyaXB0JTNFJTBBJTBBJTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwdHlwZSUzRCUyMnRleHQlMkZqYXZhc2NyaXB0JTIyJTNFJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwdmFyJTIwZXhhbXBsZUNhbGxiYWNrJTIwJTNEJTIwZnVuY3Rpb24lMjglMjklMjAlN0IlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjBjb25zb2xlLmxvZyUyOCUyN09yZGVyJTIwY29tcGxldGUlMjElMjclMjklM0IlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlN0QlM0IlMEElMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjB3aW5kb3cuRUJXaWRnZXRzLmNyZWF0ZVdpZGdldCUyOCU3QiUwQSUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyRiUyRiUyMFJlcXVpcmVkJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwd2lkZ2V0VHlwZSUzQSUyMCUyN2NoZWNrb3V0JTI3JTJDJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwZXZlbnRJZCUzQSUyMCUyNzc2MzQyNTQ1NjA5JTI3JTJDJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwaWZyYW1lQ29udGFpbmVySWQlM0ElMjAlMjdldmVudGJyaXRlLXdpZGdldC1jb250YWluZXItNzYzNDI1NDU2MDklMjclMkMlMEElMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMkYlMkYlMjBPcHRpb25hbCUwQSUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMGlmcmFtZUNvbnRhaW5lckhlaWdodCUzQSUyMDQyNSUyQyUyMCUyMCUyRiUyRiUyMFdpZGdldCUyMGhlaWdodCUyMGluJTIwcGl4ZWxzLiUyMERlZmF1bHRzJTIwdG8lMjBhJTIwbWluaW11bSUyMG9mJTIwNDI1cHglMjBpZiUyMG5vdCUyMHByb3ZpZGVkJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwb25PcmRlckNvbXBsZXRlJTNBJTIwZXhhbXBsZUNhbGxiYWNrJTIwJTIwJTJGJTJGJTIwTWV0aG9kJTIwY2FsbGVkJTIwd2hlbiUyMGFuJTIwb3JkZXIlMjBoYXMlMjBzdWNjZXNzZnVsbHklMjBjb21wbGV0ZWQlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlN0QlMjklM0IlMEElM0MlMkZzY3JpcHQlM0U=[/vc_raw_html][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row]
