SUMMARY:NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (Private)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is intended for all individuals\, regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is the traditional\, instructor-led course where students will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”mulled-wine” c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”9″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Course Details” tab_id=”section-course-details”][vc_column_text]Some of the topics in the course include: \n\ngun safety rules\nproper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols\nammunition knowledge and selection\nselecting and storing a pistol\nfundamentals of shooting\npistol inspection and maintenance\n\nSmall classes ensure low student-to-instructor ratios for lots of individualized attention. The course concludes with a written test and a shooting qualification drill. Our patient instructors will be there to assist students every step of the way in a comfortable\, non-intimidating environment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Equipment List” tab_id=”equipment-list”][vc_column_text]For this class\, you’ll need: \n\nA reliable handgun (semi-auto or revolver\, 9mm or larger preferred\, but any caliber accepted)\nRoughly 100 rounds of ammunition (we might not need that much\, depending on the pace of the class).\nEye and ear protection\nProper attire\, applicable medications\, bug spray\, snacks/water\, and other items to stay comfortable in the elements while on the outdoor range\nNote-taking materials for the classroom\nYour NRA number (if you’re a member – though membership is not required)\nAn open mind\nA positive attitude\n\nWe’ll send an email to all students within a week of class with more details on what to bring and what to expect. \nNote on Ammo:\nWe are mindful of the current ammunition shortage. We will do our very best to be conservative with ammo consumption throughout this course. The round count in the equipment list is a generous estimate\, and we hope to avoid having to use all of it. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Can I use this class to get my permit?” tab_id=”can-i-use-this-for-my-permit”][vc_column_text]Every state has its own rules for handgun carry permit issuance. The NRA CCW class is designed to meet most states’ training requirements\, and many states do accept it\, but please do not make any assumptions. To find out for sure\, contact the proper officials in your state to verify whether the CCW course will satisfy that state’s training requirement. \nTennessee has designed its own training course specifically for Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit applicants\, and this course is currently not accepted as a substitute. However\, Tennessee now has a new permit called the Concealed Handgun Carry permit\, and the NRA CCW class DOES satisfy the training requirement for Tennessee’s Concealed Handgun Carry permit. We’ve assembled a page on our website with more information on the difference between the two permits.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Register Now” tab_id=”section-register-now”][vc_column_text]We look forward to seeing you in class! If you have any trouble with the embedded registration form below\, you can also register directly on our Eventbrite page (click here).
