This course highlights the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for safely and legally owning, handling, and storing a firearm. This interactive class is about 2 hours in length and is a great introduction to the important aspects safe, legal and ethical firearm possession. Some topics covered are:
- Safe and legal gun handling
- Safe and legal gun storage
- How to transport firearms safely and legally
- Home and away safety practices
- Types of firearms and their parts
- Overview of pertinent TN firearms statutes
- Mitigating the most common firearm “accidents”
We understand that this will be many people’s very first firearms training class, so we go out of our way to make it a positive experience. This class has no range exercises and is conducted with uncompromising safety practices in a classroom setting with no live guns or ammunition.
Students who complete the clinic will receive a completion certificate and a letter detailing the class objectives.
