NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (Memphis)
January 16, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - January 17, 2020 @ 10:00 pm CST
$100.00The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is intended for all individuals, regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is the traditional, instructor-led course where students will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end.
Some of the topics in the course include:
- gun safety rules
- proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols
- ammunition knowledge and selection
- selecting and storing a pistol
- fundamentals of shooting
- pistol inspection and maintenance
Small classes ensure low student-to-instructor ratios for lots of individualized attention. The course concludes with a written test and a shooting qualification drill. Our patient instructors will be there to assist students every step of the way in a comfortable, non-intimidating environment.
This is an eight-hour class, which will be offered in two 4-hour segments on consecutive days. We’ll meet from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday, January 16th, and again from 6pm to 10pm on Friday, January 17th.
The class will take place at Top Gun Academy, 2770 Whitten Road, in Memphis, TN. Our local host and point of contact is Will Dougan.
Students in this class will need:
- At most, 100 rounds of ammo (we likely won’t use that much, but just in case)
- A reliable handgun
- Eye and ear protection
- A positive attitude and open mind
- Note-taking materials
You will NOT need a holster for this class. All shooting will be done from a table or bench. Ammunition is available for purchase at the range. Handgun rentals are also available at the range.
We look forward to seeing you in class! If you have any trouble with the embedded registration form below, you can also register directly on our Eventbrite page (click here). Thanks!
