Presentation Design for Professional Trainers (2-Part Webinar Series)

November 14 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CST

Professional trainers! Are you making the most of your presentation slides? Many presenters are only scratching the surface. Let’s fix that! Welcome to Part 1 of our two-part webinar series on presentation design.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “death by PowerPoint”? Many professional trainers are barely scratching the surface of what presentation slide decks can do. When misused or underused, slide decks can be a great cure for insomnia. But when used effectively, strategically, and creatively, your slides can multiply the impact of your instruction and greatly increase student engagement, comprehension, and retention. Well made slides are also a fantastic organizational tool for instructors to stay on task and optimize their time management. If you’re curious about how you might supercharge your slide decks, this webinar series is for you!

The course is conducted over two separate two-hour sessions. The course tuition covers both sessions.

Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 @ 7pm to 9pm Central

  • Quick overview of lesser-known tips and tricks for maximizing the effectiveness and engagement level of your slide decks
  • Includes how-to tutorials and design best practices
  • “Buffet style” webinar: Audience will have an extensive menu of micro-topics and vote on which topics we’ll cover
  • Primary focus is PowerPoint, but the ideas and design techniques apply to Keynote, Google Slides, Prezi, Aha Slides, or any presentation software
  • Possible topics include: rethinking bullet points, highlighting text, zoom effects, scroll effects, transitions and animations (including what NOT to do), arrangement and spacing, finding and editing images (and audio, video, icons, screenshots, and other media), working with color, and much more

NOTE: Your tuition for one ticket covers BOTH Part 1 and Part 2.

Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 @ 7pm to 9pm Central

  • In this second session, we’ll work live in real slide decks and walk through the editing and refinement process together
  • All attendees will have an opportunity to submit sample decks that could be used (anonymously) in the workshop
  • All attendees will receive at least one sample deck to reference and follow along during the workshop (two monitors highly recommended, but not required)

NOTE: Your tuition for one ticket covers BOTH Part 1 and Part 2.

  • Trainers who think presentation slides are useless
  • Trainers who aren’t sure how to leverage slide decks
  • Trainers who have never had formal training in presentation design
  • Trainers who think slides should be printed out as a handout
  • Trainers who want their slides to amplify their teaching
  • Trainers who want effective visual aids to reinforce student learning
  • Anyone curious about the intersection between instruction and design

Will the webinars be recorded?

YES! If you can’t make it to one or both of the sessions, a recording of each part of the series will be available for one month after the live session. Immediate access to the recordings will be available only to paid registrants and is included with your registration fee.

If you have ay trouble with the registration form below, please click here to register directly on our Eventbrite page. Please note that one ticket for either date covers BOTH sessions (both dates), so you only need to buy one ticket – not two. Thanks!
