November 18 @ 8:00 am - November 19 @ 6:00 pm CST

This 2-day course prepares instructor candidates to teach the USCCA’s Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals class (“CCHDF”). Upon successfully completing this course, you will become USCCA Certified Instructor, authorized to teach the CCHDF course. This course also satisfies the trainings requirements for certification to teach permit classes in Tennessee (and several other states).

Upon successfully completing this course, you will become USCCA Certified Instructor, authorized to teach the USCCA course, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (“CCHDF”). The USCCA has lobbied state and local governments across the United States to have CCHDF accepted to meet the training requirements for concealed carry permits. As a USCCA certified instructor, you will be trained and equipped to provide top-quality instruction to students. You will have access to the USCCA’s meticulously vetted and professionally designed classroom materials (including a full set of PowerPoint presentations and classroom videos).

During this two-day training course, a USCCA-certified Training Counselor will cover several valuable topics, including:

  • The top ten instructor mistakes, and how to avoid them
  • Teaching best practices
  • Running a safe live fire range
  • Student learning styles
  • How to effectively teach the CCHDF modules

You’ll also have a chance to demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your peers, as well as running a live fire range, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA course of fire. After completion of this course, you’ll not only be intimately familiar with the USCCA training methodology and materials, you’ll be a far better instructor and presenter, regardless of the topic of choice.

Prior to the class, you must complete the corresponding eLearning. The eLearning modules are included in the price of the class. Instructions to access the eLearning will be emailed to you when you register (no need to purchase the eLearning separately). After passing the class, you will be sent an instructor shirt and toolkit, which includes several teaching materials and ten copies of the CCHDF textbook to give you a head-start on teaching your first CCHDF class.

Here’s what you’ll need to bring with you to class:

  • Handgun (either secured on your person in a holster or safely cased/bagged)
  • Ammunition – 100 rounds
  • Lunch (we might not have time to leave for lunch)
  • Water / Beverage
  • Pen & Notebook
  • Positive attitude and open mind
  • Readiness to learn

Note that this is NOT a holster class. All shooting will be done from the low ready, using tables. We will not be drawing from the holster. However, you are welcome to wear your gun to class concealed in a holster if you are legally authorized to go armed.

What You Will Receive

  • eLearning prerequisite (must be completed prior to class)
  • Instructor Certification (assuming you pass the shooting qualification and written exam)
  • Concealed Carry & Home Defense Toolkit
  • Concealed Carry & Home Defense Digital Course Materials Access (available online for download)
  • Instructor Dashboard to manage classes and take payment from students

We look forward to seeing you in class! Register directly on the USCCA registration page (click here). Thanks!
